Defensive Back Daquan Smith

Daquan SmithFirst year Racine Raiders defensive back Daquan Smith has been playing football since the 7th grade and it didn’t take him long to pick up the game. Daquan has spent most of that time playing in Racine. Daquan played for the Horlick Rebels and the Case Eagles in high school where he
mostly played quarterback. After graduating high school, Daquan played for the Racine Threat before heading off to Carroll University. It was at Carroll University where Daquan moved to defensive back and started playing safety and cornerback.

Daquan choose to play for the Raiders because he always heard great things about the organization and he likes how they run things. He feels the Raiders are professionally run from top to bottom. Daquan’s favorite thing about playing at Historic Horlick Athletic Field is the environment, because Raiders fans are the best in the nation. As a member of the Racine Raiders, Daquan has made an impact on the field by taking an interception 45 yards for a touchdown in the first conference game of the season.

When Daquan isn’t playing football, he likes to read and spend time with his wife and son and hit the gym because he would like to play professionally someday. He also works at a manufacturing plant while looking for a job in his field. His degree is in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology.

Keep working hard, Daquan, and thank you Daquan for being a member of the Raiders organization and a positive role model on and off the field.
