Linebacker Nate Harris

Nate HarrisNate Harris (#52) has been with the Racine Raiders for 14 years. He returns again this year playing outside linebacker. At 6-foot tall and 245 pounds, he is a force to be reckoned with.

Nate’s decision to play for the Racine Raiders is an easy one. He says the Raiders organization, as a whole, take care of their players and make you feel wanted, giving you everything you need to succeed.

When you look at key pieces of the Racine Raiders team, Nate’s name comes up again and again. Over the past 14 years, Nate has continued to show dedication, strength and determination, serving our organization as a natural mascot.

He says one of the things that bring him back year-after-year are the fans who love the game. Nate feels honored and blessed to play in front of a crowd that creates a fun and energetic atmosphere and that appreciates their players.

Nate has been with his wife Anji for the past seventeen years. He is a proud father of four children, Ravyn Thomas (17), Nate Harris, Jr. (16), Robyn Harris (15), and Logan Thomas (10). Nate has been a Racine resident since 1988, moving here from Chicago, where he was born and raised, with his dad and brother. Nate attended and played at Carroll University.

When Nate was asked where he see’s himself in five years, his first response was “retired,” but he plans on hopefully coaching with the Raiders when he is no longer able to play. Nate plans to head back to school for his auto mechanic license and currently works at Schroeder Moving Systems.

Outside of playing for the Raiders, working, and taking care of his family, Nate also finds the time to coach a women’s football team, the Wisconsin Warriors. He has been the head coach for the last year and was the linebackers coach prior to taking over the head coaching duties. Nate said he started coaching his wife and eventually ended up taking on more responsibilities with the team. Before coaching the Wisconsin Warriors, Nate also coached another women’s football team, the Wisconsin Dragons.

As you can imagine, some of Nate’s hobbies include football and basketball, but he also enjoys cooking! Cooking up havoc for the opponents isn’t all he is capable of!
