Offensive lineman Steven Tucker

Steven Tucker pushes a defensive player out of the way, leaving a hole for Connor Flannery.Steven Tucker is an offensive lineman for the Raiders and returns for his second season in 2015. After the second game of the 2014 season, Steven left his former team, the Illinois Sabers, to join the Racine Raiders organization. In Steven’s words, he really wanted to be a part of a “true organization” after all of his losing seasons in football.

Steven has been playing semi-pro football since 2011, including stints with the Chicago Falcons, Sabers and now the Racine Raiders. Prior to playing semi-pro football, Steven also played for Westinghouse Career Academy in high school. He continued playing in college at Mississippi Valley State University and New Mexico Highlands University. Steven made the first team all-city and second team all-state football player in high school and still holds the Illinois state record for most quarterback sacks in a game with eight!

Football is and always has been a large part of Steven’s life. Born and raised on the northwest side of Chicago, Steven is the youngest, and biggest, out of seven kids. Much of the family travels to Racine to watch Steven play, including his mother (Rosie Tucker), father (Sylvester Tucker), sisters (Shannon Shaw and Stephanie Tucker), and his brother (Shun Tucker).

Steven Tucker clears a lane for Tyrone Galvin.Currently working as a machine operator for Coca-Cola in Niles, Illinois, Steven feels that Coke tastes much better than Pepsi (can’t argue with him there). When he was little, Steven wanted to be a movie star and a professional wrestler, already picking his wrestling name, “Chris AWESOME.”

On game day, Steven tries to stay as mellow as possible and crack jokes with the offensive linemen. He doesn’t have any pets, but refers to his nephews (King and Devine) and his niece (Serenity) as his “rugrats.” As you can tell, he is quite the jokester!

Outside of work and football, Steven loves to workout, work on his acting, and play video games. He also enjoys watching “interesting television.” He confided that some people say he looks like Michael Strahan and/or Michael Oher.

Steven reminds people to “leave the world a better place than you found it.”
