Raiders Rout Hitmen

Terrance Fitch had one of the best receiving games in MidStates Football League (MSFL) history Saturday night and helped lead the Racine Raiders to a 45-7 win over the Muskego Hitmen at Falcon Stadium at Whitnall High School.

Fitch caught 6 passes for 267 yards and 3 touchdowns. Fitch hauled in touchdown catches of 95, 78, and 42 yards in the first half helping give the Raiders a 31-7 halftime lead. Anthony Johnson was nearly perfect in the first half completing 9 of 11 passes for 272 yards and 4 touchdowns. He finished 12 of 15 for 325 yards, 4 touchdowns, and 1 interception.

Johnson hit Fitch on a 95-yard touchdown pass on the first offensive play of the game. On the Raiders next offensive drive, Johnson found Fitch on the first play again for a 78-yard touchdown and the Raiders were off and running. Fitch would catch a 42-yard touchdown pass from Johnson with 12:29 to play in the first half to give Racine a 21-7 lead.

Hunter Breunig would kick a 25-yard field goal and Connor Flannery caught a 10-yard touchdown pass just before halftime. Flannery would also run for a touchdown in the game and completed 3 of 5 passes for 39 yards. He finished with 84 total yards in the game.

The other score for Racine came on a pass tipped by Justin Benko and caught by Erick Sanders who returned it 18 yards for a touchdown. Benko paced Racine’s defense with 7 tackles and 2 passes defensed. Torie Ruffin had 8 tackles. Deveron Davis, Grant Lamb, Michael Ambrose, and Ryan Arnold all had sacks in the game.

The Door County Destroyers lost to the Milwaukee County Chargers meaning that if the Raiders beat the Destroyers in Baileys Harbor, Wisconsin, this Saturday at 4 p.m., they will clinch the Northern Conference title. The team is offering a fan bus to the game for just $20. The bus will leave Horlick Field at noon.
