Running Back Howard Triplett

Howard Triplett breaks loose against the Southern Lakes Blue Devils.Howard Triplett is now in his fifth year on the Racine Raiders. Triplett is very serious about his football career and hopes to one day make it into the National Football League.

“It is still a dream of mine,” said Howard.

Standing a full 6’1” and weighing in at 200 pounds, Triplett is a threat on the field. His first year with the Raiders, the coaches knew they had something special with Triplett. In 2015, his first year, Howard rushed for 306 yards on 51 carries and averaged 6 yards per carry. He scored six touchdowns in his rookie year and broke a career long 66-yard run against the Sheboygan County Rebels.

Howard is quite humble and shy off of the football field, but a beast when handed the ball. When he played for the Cowboys, an 8-man team in Illinois, his coach pointed him in the direction of the Racine Raiders and he hasn’t looked back. When asked how he would describe the Racine Raiders organization, Howard’s answer was simple and to the point.

“They are very organized and professional, said Triplett.

Howard Triplett finds room to run against the Grand Rapids Seminoles.He went on to say that the fans are a big part of playing for the Raiders and is part of the reason he comes back year after year. As a running back, Howard relies on his offensive line and appreciates the fact that they are always there for him.

“I love my teammates, especially my o-line,” said Howard.

In the stands every week, you will find Howard’s mom cheering him on and his four-year-old daughter, Aaleyah. Life makes sense when his mom and daughter are by his side. Triplett devotes all his time to his family and the love of football. Outside of that, what else is there? Howard also completed his Associate’s Degree in May.

The Raiders organization appreciates Howard’s commitment to the game and understand that driving from Waukegan for practice and games is no easy task. Thank you, Howard, for making a difference on and off the field. You are an inspiration to all our youth. Keep up the great work.
