Social Media Coordinator – Jeremy Wasurick

Jeremy Wasurick, Racine Raiders Social Media CoordinatorSocial media is an important part of any business and the Racine Raiders are no different. The Raiders joined Facebook in 2008 and Twitter in 2009. The team is also on YouTube, Instagram, and Snapchat. Each platform offers a different opportunity for the team and takes someone that
understands each platform to properly manage them.

That’s where Raiders volunteer Jeremy Wasurick shines. Jeremy, a Kenosha Reuther Central alum, came to the Raiders three years ago. He had an opportunity to volunteer with a couple of different semi-pro teams but chose the Raiders. He enjoys the opportunity of providing his talents to a well-respected organization.

“I like the history of the organization and knew I could help the team,” recalls Jeremy.

Jeremy gained a ton of knowledge running social media through his business, Cream City Central, which is a sports news and opinion website.

“I have a strong passion for social media,” says Wasurick.

That passion is apparent in the regular updates fans get via social media. On game days, Jeremy is in the press box keeping fans updated on big plays and scores. During the week, he’s posting a variety of content to the different social media platforms to keep fans engaged.

Jeremy says it’s hard to pick his favorite moment with the team thus far but one does stand out.

“There’s too many to pick, but one that stands out is the Jordan Payne touchdown throw against the Hitmen in the playoffs,” says Jeremy.

Jeremy has turned his experience with the Raiders into a paying gig with the indoor Green Bay Blizzard where he recently became the video coordinator. It’s not quite his dream job but he’s getting closer.

“I would love to do social media at a pro level for either an NFL, MLB, or NBA team,” says Jeremy.

The Raiders recently had one former volunteer and a former intern get full-time jobs with a Major League Baseball and National Basketball Association teams so Jeremy’s time with the Raiders is preparing him well for that opportunity.
